What's SimIntpr for?

SimIntpr is a virtual Simultaneous Interpreter for YouTube videos. It translates YouTube video subtitles and speaks them out.

How to use?

Please check out our tutorial video for instructions.
Basically, you need to choose the 'Translation Source' and set up the Speech Engine.

What's the best practice?

For 'Translation Source' option, choose in this order:
a) Subtitle in video's language not auto-generated - uploaded by author
b) Subtitle in different language not auto-generated - uploaded by author
c) Auto-generated subtitle - auto created by YouTube voice-to-text
For 'Translate to' option, choose in this order:
a) Subtitle not auto-generated or auto-translated - uploaded by author
b) Turn on "Don't Use YouTube Translation" - we'll translate from your chosen source
c) Auto-translated subtitle - worst option, poor quality

What's "Don't Use YouTube Translation"?

By default, SimIntpr grabs the translated subtitles from YouTube's auto-translation.
But as you've probably noticed, the quality of the translation is not so good.
If you turn this setting on, the extension will use SimIntpr's own translation engine instead of YouTube's. That really improves the translation quality.

Why doesn't it work?

Double check that you followed all the steps shown in the tutorial video.
You can also try 'Add more voices' and test more voice options. Some voices may sound far better then others.

Also, just so you know, the speech engine that comes from Chrome isn't totally reliable. If you can't hear the voice, you might need to click the

'Fix Speech Engine'

button in the extension.

Why does the audio continue when I close YouTube?

The voice stops right away when you pause the YouTube video.
If you close the YouTube page, the voice may keep going for a bit because the text-to-speech engine queues up the audio in a background task.
In that case, you can click the 'Stop Speech Engine' button on the extension's settings panel to make it stop immediately.

How is the usage amount calculated?

Only when the subtitle is got from SimIntpr's translation, the duration of the speech would be accumulated.
The subtitle will be fetched from YouTube's auto-translation when the option of 'Translate to' is marked as 'YouTube'.

Is the payment secure?

Don't worry, the payment is totally secure. We use Stripe to handle all payments and billing. They're an online financial infrastructure service. You can learn more about their top-notch security measures on their website: https://stripe.com.

How can I cancel my plan?

No problem, you can cancel your subscription at any time. Once you've subscribed, you'll be able to manage your plan through your dashboard. There you can cancel your subscription, view subscription info, billing info, and more.

What is the refund policy?

If you're not satisfied with the extension, just let us know within 3 days of your purchase and we'll give you a full refund, no questions asked. Alternatively, we're happy to work with you to resolve any issues you may have.
